Psychiatric care is provided in the following areas for adults of all ages and adolescents 16 and older. Treatment is tailored to each patient’s unique situation, and may involve psychotherapy, medication management, or both.

Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

ADHD is a disorder that usually begins in childhood—but it can easily be missed or incorrectly diagnosed until adulthood. In fact, while ADHD may be over-diagnosed in children, it is often under-diagnosed in adults.

  • Poor concentration and distractibility
  • Procrastination, difficulty organizing tasks, and inattention to details
  • Impulsive behavior
  • Irritability
  • Social awkwardness
  • Trouble listening to what is being said

The primary treatment for ADHD is medication. However, therapy can also be helpful in building organizational and social skills, both of which are negatively affected by ADHD.
